Paul Shows was born August 29, 1936 in Winnfield,Louisiana to Bill & Bertie Shows. He had one sister, Virginia who married Clayton Jordan, a cousin to Owen Jordan. Paul’s first experience in performong was singing while playing the guitar in local churches. Paul graduated High School in 1956, moving to Natchez, Mississippi. After marrying his wife Glenda,she joined Paul in ministry by singing harmony and accompanying on piano. Glenda grew up going to singing conventions and playing piano at the local church. Quartet singing is in their heart & spirit. Paul & Glenda knows it is their calling from the Lord. Paul has been blessed through the years to have written numerous Southern Gospel songs. They moved to Pine Bluff, Arkansas in 1958. Their two sons Randall & Kevin were born there. With friends from their church they formed the Evangelaires Quartet. They sang locally in churches and events until Paul & Glenda moved back to Louisiana in 1968. It was not long before they formed the Lighthouse Quartet, including Glenda’s cousins from Goldonna. After moving to Natchitoches in 1994,they formed a group called the Masters Voice. Their sons are talented singers, songwriters, musicians, playing piano and guitar. Randy had a Christian Country band known,as Uncommon Man. Kevin is currently singing with the Brothers Redeemed Quartet. Throughout the years Paul & Glenda have sung many of the Statesmen, Blackwood, Happy Goodman,and Hinson songs. Paul will quickly tell you can’t beat Southern Gospel music and convention style songs. Paul has shared that it is an honor to join the Pine Ridge Quartet continuing his calling to the music ministry.
